Good 👍Posted on Google Kelly LundquistTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The day after Christmas, on December 26, 2024, I experienced a devastating house fire. The fire started in my living room and burned long enough that smoke filled my entire home, making it unlivable and requiring a complete remodel. Shortly after the fire, Andrew from Capital Construction was one of the very first people on the scene. At a time of devastation, high emotions, and uncertainty, Andrew provided reassurance, kindness, and genuine empathy. As the main contractor, he was never pushy or focused on selling Capital Construction’s services. While multiple contractors were driving by and leaving business cards, Andrew’s calm professionalism and compassion made Capital Construction my clear first choice. During the first few months, Andrew maintained constant and consistent communication, keeping me fully informed every step of the way. Soon after, I met Nick, who was in charge of handling the contents inside my home. Like Andrew, Nick went above and beyond — always communicating clearly and making sure I knew what was happening and when. He and his crew even took the initiative to gather items of personal or financial importance, such as credit cards, IDs, photos, and jewelry and get them to me immediately. Andrew and Nick also referred me to other companies that matched their same level of professionalism. Tom from Hamlet Dry Cleaning is a perfect example — he and his team went above and beyond to help my family regain a sense of normalcy during such a difficult time. Melissa at Capital Construction was incredibly helpful in coordinating communication between the insurance company, Andrew, and me. The entire team was flexible, responsive, and understanding when it came to navigating insurance payments and documentation — even helping send insurance checks to my parents, who are on the deed but live out of town. As the months passed and the remodel came together, I was introduced to Chris, the Project Manager, who continued the same excellent level of communication. Tayler was an absolute joy to work with — we spent nearly two hours together choosing every detail, from door knobs and light fixtures to fans, faucets, and sinks. Her patience, attention to detail, and design insight made the process enjoyable despite the circumstances. When the remodel was complete, I walked into what felt like a brand-new home. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations. Nick’s team remained responsive and respectful when addressing final touch-ups, and the entire Capital Construction staff continued to offer support even after the project was done. While it’s bittersweet to see our collaboration come to an end, I’m forever grateful for the compassion, professionalism, and excellence that Capital Construction brought to such a difficult chapter of my life. I 100% recommend Capital Construction to anyone in need of a home remodel or restoration. They turned my disaster into a fresh start — and treated me like family every step of the way.Posted on Google Adrienne JohnsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had major water damage in our kitchen and got connected with Capital Construction through our insurance. They were super communicative and walked me through what to expect. Once the floor was dried and repaired, they gave us a 3-week timeline to rebuild—and stuck to it. They even found asbestos and coordinated with a removal service and our insurance. The job's done now, and we're really happy with how it turned out. Great team, great results.Posted on Google Candice TennysonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Capital Construction did an outstanding job repairing our home from water damage. Work included replacing a tile floor in a bathroom, rebuilding a cabinet, installing all new hardwoods and molding on the first floor plus extensive interior painting. An incredible amount of work employing numerous specialists! We were fortunate to have Adam Wyatt and Chris Goetz supervising and managing the estimates, schedules and work processes. They even filled in and did specialty work themselves to keep the process moving. They were also fun to work with. Laughter rather than tiers is needed is needed for home repairs of this size! I highly recommend this company!
Mitigation is the first step after a fire, flood, or other property damage. The work done during the first few hours can help prevent more damage and increase the chances of saving your property.
Our mitigation services include:
Our certified technicians respond quickly and arrive ready to secure and stabilize the area so restoration work can begin safely.
1
Before any cleaning or drying begins, we ensure your property is protected from further exposure. Open roof areas are tarped, windows and doors are boarded, and any immediate hazards are addressed so the work ahead can proceed safely.
2
Using professional detection equipment, we trace exactly where water, smoke, and heat have traveled. This tells us what is affected even in areas that appear undamaged and shapes every decision we make from this point forward.
3
We remove standing water immediately and place industrial drying and dehumidification equipment throughout the affected areas. This phase continues until moisture readings confirm that structural materials have reached appropriate drying targets.
4
We remove damaged materials and treat affected surfaces with methods matched to each material type. Working this way protects salvageable areas while ensuring that residue does not spread or continue to cause damage.
5
The odor that lingers after a fire is the result of particles embedded in your materials, not just the air. We use professional air treatment and targeted surface cleaning to address the source directly rather than masking it.
6
Mold can establish itself within 24 to 48 hours of water exposure. Treating affected areas during the mitigation phase rather than waiting until restoration is a critical step in protecting your property and the health of everyone in it.
We live by the belief that everyone deserves a contractor who genuinely cares. When you reach out to us, you connect with a local team that is deeply rooted in this community, fueled by a passion for our work, and dedicated to treating every client with utmost respect and kindness. Whether you are dealing with a sudden emergency or the gradual effects of a slow leak, Capital Fire and Water has the expertise, equipment, and genuine commitment to care to restore your home the right way. We treat every property as if it were our own, and we do not consider the job finished until you are fully back to normal.
Mitigation is the immediate response work that stops damage from spreading and stabilizes your property. Restoration is the process of repairing and returning everything to its pre-incident condition. Mitigation must come first because restoration cannot succeed if the underlying issues are not fully addressed.
Immediately. Every hour that passes allows damage to extend further into your property. Water migrates into structural materials quickly, and smoke damage becomes increasingly difficult to reverse the longer it sits. Calling as soon as it is safe to do so makes a real difference in the outcome.
We document damage thoroughly from the moment we arrive on site. We are experienced in working with insurance providers and will help ensure your claim has the information it needs to move forward without unnecessary back-and-forth.
Yes. Whether you own a single-family home or a commercial building, our team has the experience and capacity to handle your mitigation needs. We treat every property with the same level of urgency and attention to detail.
Our Capital Construction division steps in to handle all repairs and rebuilding. You stay with the same team throughout the process, ensuring consistent communication and no disruption to your recovery timeline.
